What to pack for your trip to Auckland?

The best way to pack for your trip to Auckland is to pack for four seasons!

If you’re planning to sightsee in the warmer months (and not hit the trails) we suggest that you bring tank tops and t-shirts, shorts, light shoes, a windproof / waterproof jacket. Don’t forget a dress or two for evenings out and a cardigan to throw over your shoulders on cooler evenings. Like Australia, the sun in Auckland can be fierce so a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen are a must – and if planning to visit the beach, don’t forget to pack a small beach towel or sarong and of course your swimsuit.

For trips to Auckland in both Autumn and Winter swap the shorts for jeans and add a fleece, gloves and beanie in the mix. Keep the swimming suit in the bag so you can visit the hot pools.

If you’re planning to hit the trails, pack your hiking pants, active-wear T’s, hiking boots and socks.

Other must-pack items are your camera (a real one if you indeed own one), cables, headphones, and a portable battery for your phone.

If you’re travelling from Australia you won’t need to bring a converter, it’s the same electrical plug as home.
